Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? Rye apparently

This year at the Spring Meeting, we were surprised to have a ticked off a rather bizarre (unverified) record .

Of the 35 people who took part over the course of the weekend, we had five sets of brothers taking part.

The family affair included:

  • A pair of Kellys

  • A pair of Salmons

  • Two pairs of Burns (multi-generational)

  • A Pair of Mallinsons

There was also:

  • A single Byrne, of no relation to the the Burns, but close enough

  • Another Burn of no relation (but a strong suited hand for poker enthusiasts)

  • One Salmon missing

  • Due to the injury of one Mallinson (skiing of course), his younger brother stepped into his place

To the authors knowledge, several of those taking part also had brothers (and sisters) who are eligible to have taken part, but made poor life choices and missed out.

They include; Shepherd, Young, Campbell and Potter.

Onto next Spring, and more fraternal records.
