The confirmed fixture list for 2022 is available and shown. The main events are of course the Spring and Autumn Meetings.
At this stage none of us has any view on what the situation will be by then in terms of a “normal” life, but we can be certain that Rye will go out of its way to allow us to play the maximum that rules will permit at the time. We may well get some golf in, perhaps restricted, but we may have to forego the social side. Rest assured that I will be monitoring this closely and will do my best to maximise the weekend’s fun.
A quick index for those who may need:
Meetings are open to all members of the Society. Members that would like to play in a meeting are able to book and pay online via transfer.
Matches are also open to all members but there are a limited number of places for each match. If a member would like to play in a match, they express their interest online. The Match Manager selects a team from those that have expressed an interest and communicates the selected team and any reserves to all concerned. Mostly open to all abilities, bar a few fixtures.
The Competitions we enter are scratch matchplay formats, so inevitably this is where we seek to put out teams comprised of our best available golfers. Consequently all such competitions (Halford Hewitt/Grafton Morrish/ Benard Darwin) are at the invitation of the team captain only.
